Best GPS tracking devices for under $500.00!?!? What GPS tracking devices do you all suggest? I would like to get one, i live on the east coast, i dont wanna spend over 500.00 for one. One with voice that tells street names would be nice..but is it worth the extra 200.00 or so bucks? and when it says "take a left 500 feet ahead" does it show the name of the road in text on the screen?
what material can i use to interrupt the gps tracking signal on my car? my used town car has a gps tracking system on it that the person i bought it from installed. for some odd reason he wont tell me where it is. so i took it to a body shop and they told me where the antenna is but the cant find where the gps trackers brain is. they told me it would be best to just cut the antenna. the thing is i want to be able to use the antenna when i park my car somewhere im not familiar with. so i just want to be able to turn it off and on. so they told me to find a material that can interrupt the signal. can anyone help????

Can you fool a Nextel GPS tracking phone? The boss added gps to the nextel phone I use at work, is there a way to fool or mask the location besides taking the battery out. If you are out of the phone service area can they still track you? I guess they can since they use satillites to gps you and cell towers for talk but can you fool the sats?
magellan meridian GPS track file problem? I have a Magellan Meridian GPS, and I noticed it doesn't save the correct timestamp into track files. It uses neight my local time nor GMT. I've tried clearing all memory and re-initialize the unit, but it still uses the wrong time for track files. Anyone know why it's doing this? I'm trying to use gpstagr.com to geotag all my images and not having the correct timestamp is annoying. Thanks for any information.
GPS Personal Tracking? Can you recomend a small enough GPS product that can be easily carried by a person, ie handheld, watch, etc. That has very accurate tracking and position can be refreshed very quickly. And is relatively cheap. Any Ideas/Links?

Unfortunately, I had no way of tracking where it is currently but if I had some type of device for tracking it, I would not be asking this question now. You might say I watch to many movies but is there an almost undetectable device that sends signals for at least 24 hours upon theft and has a range of at least 5 miles? I've heard of this used in vehicles but I don't have that type of money and such a device would be so cumbersome, its not even funny. I've been searching for a while but Im not a very patient person with these search engines. So, if you know anything about tracking devices, tell me what you know, otherwise, go on to another question. Thanks.

How does a GPS tracking device work? Does it narrow down to the area, like surveillance cameras, to the exact location? Or is it like a road atlas, when it gives you the town the target its being tracked down in? Does it beep when it moves? Can it go out-of-state and even out-of-country? How small is it? I know this is a lot. But this is for research purposes for my novel.

I want to know if there is a way to get proof that someone has been tracked via gps on a business cell phone plan by looking at the bills, or if there is some other way to find this out. Is there a way to track someone that I can get proof of that does not necessarily show up on my Sprint cell phone bill? I believe that business plans have had this in place for some time to track employees.

We're pretty sure her ex-husband was tracking her location via GPS on their Sprint business cell phone account. Does anyone know anything about this? I need info on GPS tracking to keep track of a teen. I saw a recent program that talked about it.? I can't remember the name of the program or I would contact them. It might have been Dateline or 20/20. Did anyone else see it and remember the show? Already talked to Sprint they have GPS but you have to buy a new phone and contract. We just bought him a new camera phone at Christmas. The program made it sound like it was something you could put in his phone. This is to spy on him to keep track of him.
I put a GPS tracking device on my wife's car and she found out... She was putting more miles on the vehicle than I allow her to. If there is to many miles on it when it comes ttime to sell it, the resale value will be a lot lower with all the extra miles. It is a leased car and there is restrictions on the mileage..COME ON ALL YOU MAN HATERS out there..lighten up....
