Video Game? Couple years ago I was playing this video game on the computer and i was wondering if anyone could help me figure out the name of it. There is a castle. And with your little villager you draw a trail for it to build a home. It walks to that point and and goes back and forth between the castle and the point and brings necessary equipment. In that home then, when it's done a soldier comes in or sometimes a night. This process also stretches the boundaries of your castle. I played this game back in Poland back in like 1999 maybe but I'm quite positive that it was an American game...i think... And also when the boundaries increase if there were other people's houses they would burn and the people would flee from them.

How can I convince my mom to let me buy video games that involve killing people? O-kay... So... I'm fourteen, almost fifteen, and I have really leniant parents. They give me a lot of freedom, but restrict me from this one thing. My mom won't let me buy any video games that allow you to kill human beings in it. She's not super strict about it, though. She trusts me not to go and get them on my own, which I won't, and she doesn't start rummaging through all my games or some crap looking for 'em. She just tells me not to, and expects me to listen. She also lets me get games that involve you killing things that aren't human, such as Resident Evil and stuff. So, anyway, I was just wonderin' if you guys could help me out, and give me some advice on how to convince her to let me play these kind of games. Can video games be labeled as a cause of problems with our youth... Do you believe that we (as a society) can place blame on video games? If so, how much blame? Are they completely at fault, partially at fault, etc. If video games are at fault for issues with this generation, who should we hold responsible? The companies for making the games? Parents for buying games without researching what's in them? Stores for selling them? Or children for playing them? And if you believe games aren't at fault, why do politicians and the media love to target video games, just like rock music was targetted in previous generations? Is placing blame frivolously an issue with our society that should be dealt with? And how so?

Video games - Has the market hit a stagnant period? I was mooching through my local video game store, and about the last 9/10 times, I've walked out with nothing... Thats not to say I had no money... I just didn't see anything that seemed very playable... So, I suppose the question is... Am I just starting to grow out of it all (I do still enjoy bf2142 though) Have game makers forgotton what makes a truly memorable video? Has the younger generation with its total reliance and review on game 'graphics' made that all new games should be very very pretty, but with very little substance... Why do people invent video games? I mean really sure we love playing them but who invented the first video game? And why did they do it. I mean we had the atari system with games in it and we didn't have to buy video games for thirty dollars. And some video games make people so mad they curse or punch a hole into something. Does Video games really effect ppl, other than just playing? its in my belief that video games dont have any effect on ppl, as much as people in their family does, and as I watch a re-run a the daily show with Jon Stewart and his bit on the senate attacking video games confirmed the fact, one of the senators said he was watching his six year old children play these video games and was horrifided by the game, the key word was watching. so where do you all stand on the subject ive played every video game that the senate attacks, and im one on the most peaceful peoplein the world. and you cant be violent if your addicted to the game,other then mugging someone to buy the sequal to the game another thing that concerns me about what the senate said was that inner city kids are more likely to imitate video games then suburban kids, and if thats true then those inner city kids probably was already violent, video games just keep them off the street for a while if your talking about my spelling and grammer, then thats not fair, I was just a lazy student in english class. Im more affected by the news then video game, hell video games teach something, the news just spits garbage , and Im not taking about the actaul news, Im talking about the ones reporting new. Video games now show females being kicked between the ... Many video games -- warriors, wwf games, bully, scarface, mortal combat -- all show females being struck in the groin, even by other male characters of the game, do you belief that these games should be allowed to show this and do you think that these games will promote real attacks against that part of the female anatomy in schools or neighborhoods. Doesn't such a display tempt young boys and girls to mimic the technique...
How much video games is really too much? If they are learning.? My son (5) plays his leapster learning video game for hours. He's learned to read, write, spell, and add on it. Is it okay to let him play other video games that have problem-solving components as well? He just loves them, and they help him focua and concentrate. His preschool even noticed an improvement. Id it possible these games are a good thing for some kids? I played plenty when I grew up, and I got a college degree? Not sure on this one. video games, screwy minds? i hear every now and then that video games causes kids to commit crimes,murder and such! thats B.S,its like guns....guns dont kill people,people kill people,and thats where parenting comes in,you can teach a kid right from wrong and when he sits down to play that violent game,if he was raised right and raised to distinguish right from wrong,he\she shouldnt have a problem going out in public and acting like an ass,just because he\she seen something on that video game,they know better,they just dont care because their parents dont!

I am 13 years old and I don't think that they would have any negative effects as much as reading a book. Many piecies of literature have violent themes and it seems to me that everyone seems to attack this. Sex and nudity in video games.? What do you all think about sex in video games. A lot of gammers think that there is not enough. I think that there is an imbalanced between sex and Violence. There is way too much Violence but not enough sexual content. I mean that it seems that it is ok to blow the head off a police officer like in Grand Theft Auto but it is not ok to have sex with your spouse like in the SIMS. I have no problem with restricting the content to Adults only, any way possible. I would not want any child to have access to adult content. But just like porn there has to be a way to satify adult gamers. It is not about making the story line in a game better because I beleive that it won't. I just think that people want a more realistic video game experience. In other words I would not like sex and nudity(in video games) to be (sometimes) dumb like in porn. What do you think? What do video game reviewers use to record footage of games? What do video game reviewers use to record footage of games? I'm guessing it's something they put on the cable between the computer and the monitor rather than an internal program that uses system resources while it records. I use FRAPs at the moment and it's practically worthless since I have to turn down the graphics in the game so it can record at a decent framerate. What is the specific name for this device and where can I get one cheap?

My kids are obsessed with video games..should we buy them more? My sons LOVE video games. Ofcourse I am very selective at what I will let them play...The video games tend to make them tense because right now they have to share one console and some of the games seem to be pretty intense. They all take them very seriously. My first thought was to buy them each a hand held game so they could have their own and perhaps decrease their fighting with one another. My husband wasn't sure this was a good idea. I understand they need to learn to share but I kind of feel if each have their own space they would really be more apt to share the 1 console at times. Should we buy them more games? Or skip the games all together this year?
