Magellan Gps? Hi! I would like the MAGELLAN GPS eXplorist_210. I'm new i Us (I'm a geographer) and I hope it's the best model also for vist city (showing highway, destination, point of view...) Someone can suggest me. Anyway I don't like the car model like TOM TOM. Thank you.
Auto GPS navigator?? By your experience which brand has the best automobile GPS navigator? Magellan or Garmin or Tom-Tom...etc
Why is my Magellan Roadmate 2000 interfering with my radio when plugged... I have a Magellan Roadmate 2000 vehicle GPS (got it for Christmas). It is suction cupped onto the windshield, and has a car adaptor for power. When the adaptor is plugged both into the cigarette lighter and the unit, my FM and AM radio stations get much more staticky, with wierd buzzings and such. As soon as I unplug the adaptor from either the unit or the cigarette lighter, it stops. Obviously the power or something is causing the interference, but is this normal? Is something broken or malfunctioning? Magellan customer support is virtually non existant so I''ve gone to the next best thing...the people! Thanks for your help. It may be operating on the same megahertz as the first responder said, but also I'd be curious why I notice it on some other stations too that are in different spots on the dial?
Who sells a good GPS - for 500 bucks or less? Looking for a good GPS - I tried a magellan 300 (basic model) but it wasnt good at getting a signal. When the signal worked it was great. I want my GPS mainly for traveling in my car.
Magellan Roadmate 300? I just bought this thig and I am aggravated. It came with a West region SD card which was blank! I get no detailed maps. How do I upload maps to this dumb this. I bought 2 other programs to try to fix the issue. Roadmate Manager from magellan wont download of course. I bought the Magellan MapSend Direct Route software and stil nothing. So now I have the Delorme Street Atlas 2007 USA and still nothing. the files are not readable on the GPS. Can anyone help?
What is a good GPS navigator? What is the best GPS navigator that I could get? I like Magellan and tomtom. I really dont want an off brand. I don't live in a major city, so live traffic reports wouldn't be avaliable. (I live near Columbia, South Carolina.) Also, the price is not my desiding factor. I want a color monitor, not black and white.
gps hand held? anyone havea gps hand held unit? which one? such as Garmin , Magellan , etc... do you like it?
Which handheld GPS is better? I'm looking into getting a handheld gps. The two that im in interested in are: Lowrance iFinder Expedition C Magellan eXplorist 500 I know the lowrance has a built in compass and barimetric altimeter but the price is pretty different. Just curious if anyone has had experience with either of these units and what their opinion is.
Choosing a GPS? I am having a hard time choosing between a Magellan Travelmate models 360, 760, and 800. Not sure if it is worth the extra $100 to go to the 800, even considering that apparently some features were dropped in the latest (e.g. apparently the 800 does not have WAAS, but the 760 has???). Bottomline, what is the best driving GPS for under $300?
Free GPS Maps?!?!? I have a Magellan eXplorist 400 and it didn't come with anything more than a simple road atlas...well less detailed, anyways do you know any site/place i could look for any free download'able maps? Please help...thanks
Need info on purchasing a handheld GPS which is applicable for aviation and ... I have checked out Garmin, Lowrance, and Magellan. Lowrance has the Airmap 600c which is the closest for aviation purposes, and price range, but I couldn't get any good info for the terrestrial use, if it even has any, for that particular model. I also checked out the Garmin 96c. The Lowrance seems to have more for less. Could never get through the Lowrance phone line to talk to an actual person. As a student GA pilot, I am interested in a handheld model that would serve me in the air, as well as if I had to ditch in an unknown area such as a forest, etc, and lived to walk my way out! Just trying to find a model that has the best of both applications. Want to stay within the 300-500. dollar range. Can be flexible within 100 dollars more if necessary. Any suggestions?

What's the most popular Automotive GPS Navigator system? I recently decided to put one in my vehicle and wanted to know if anyone has one in particular they like over other models and why! I have used the Magellan 500 but now it is the 760. Pretty much the same and I liked the features however, folks tell me they "crash" a lot. The one I used previously never did it once. It isn't a big deal you just unplug and reboot is what I'm told. I would appreciate any intelligent input! I'm not looking for all the "bells and whistles" just a functional piece of equipment which does the job! The Magellan 760 roadmate goes for about $330 online and has all the features I need. Just wanted to know if there is a better model quality wise for the same money!
