  1. climbing trees and blowing bubbles.
  2. remember the tennis ball in the bottom of a stocking then you stood with your back against the wall thrashing it up and down against the wall. 5 stones-- any old stones did it.
  3. Hide & Seek Tag Marbles
  4. We played Kick The Can, Hide and Seek, Cowboys & Indians, and many more.
  5. double dutch
  6. run outs
  7. Remember pickup sticks; jacks; hopscotch; paper, stone and scissors; Simon says; hide & seek. As adults, I think pickup sticks and jacks would still be fun.
  8. Hide & Seek. Tag. Kick the Can. Treasure Hunt.
  9. I remember playing: Frozen tag Red rover Spud or skunk (same game) Musical Chairs Hide and seek Dodgeball Cats craddle Jump rope Regular tag Hula hoop Softball Field hockey Touch football Hopscotch There were a lot of clapping games Playing on the monkey bars swinging on the swings playing on the slide That takes me back to when I was so much younger. Wow time sure does fly.
  10. Skipping - alone and the long one where you would skip with others; Chinese skipping, the one with the elastic, I loved that and was good at it; hopscotch;; cats cradle, too, but not everyone knew how; I loved tetherball; playing "donkey" where you threw the big red rubber ball against the brick wall of the school, and you had to have it go between your legs; Red Rover; a few clapping games, but I sure don't remember the rhymes. Had lots and lots of fun!
  11. We played marbles on the grids that had small square shaped holes-but not to small that the marbles fell through. You would push them across with one finger, from one side to trap your opponents in a corner. They did likewise from the other side. The winner took all the marbles. We had names for them like beauties, dobbers, sparkies-God knows what for.!!!
  12. i have remembered playing hide and seek , also chain it is like there will be 13 people and from them 1 as a Dener i normally used to be the only one left and always bumped against the Dener. then i also remember 'play the scene' we used too make funny scenes and serious too then yes "hop hop and hop" it was such great fun

  16. hiya i played football football and more football there used to be a hardcore of us kids who went to school about an hour and a half before school started just to play footie it was great another game called manhunt it was not so much a school game more like after school when loads of kids teamed up in diffrent gangs say 15 a side and one team done the chasing and the other done the hiding around the housing estate we had bounderies of about a square mile and the chasing team had to find and catch the hiding team and when you catch one of them all you had to do was make them submit with sum wrestling holds or anyother means ha ha( the figure off four leg lock was my fav) and then they had to join your team this game could last for days because sum nite,s you could not find them and it had to carry on the next nite another game at school was called brittish bulldogs and loads of kids used to play this just imagine half a footie pitch and in the middle was one person and on the egde of the pitch was 100 kids and the object of the game was was for these kids to get from one side of the pitch to the other(running, walking, whatever) and the guy in the middle had to catch sumone and all they had to do was lift them in the air off 2 feet and when you got caught you had to join the guy( or girl) in the middle and this went on back and forth intill there was 1 person left running from end to end just imagine 1 person running and trying to avoid 99 people to get to the other side without getting caught and the person managed a few time's it was fab good memorys..................god is that the time..time for my bed lol long lie for me in the moring
  17. We also used to play run outs, but the running team would think of a word, take a letter each, and the chasing team would have to beat the letter out of each player they caught(no head shots). Some letters took upto 3 beatings to extract.
