MDA & TomTom - Possible to use motorola i730 as gps receiver?

Sorry if this has been brought up before. I did a search and nada. Would it be possible to use a motorola I730 as a gps receiver for and MDA and TomTom software? I have a boost mobile i730 and just remembered it had GPS on it that i never used before because i did not see a use for it. While looking online for a cheap gps receiver, it came to mind.

I have no experience with this but to be honest, I doubt a cell phone mfgr would allow the built in gps to transmit a signal to another device. It wouldnt help their bottom line.
