What is the cheapest, but reliable GPS receiver on the market?

I'm looking for a reliable, but inexpensive GPS receiver to start Geocaching (geocaching.com).

  1. This is one of the cheaper on the market and a good reliable product. I use one. http://www.garmin.com/products/etrex/ You can get them for 75.00 usually.
  2. My fiance uses the Garmin eTrex (its yellow) for walking and Geocaching. He has never had any problems with it and has had it for a couple of years now. Below is a link to a site selling them for £84.84. Have fun Geocaching!
  3. I'll add another vote for the yellow eTrex. £84.84 seems high, though. I'm not sure if the prices are inflated in the UK, but you should be able to get it for under $100 in the US. One thing to make sure you get is a cable to connect your GPS to a computer. The low end Magellan units do not have these. If you're going to be Geocaching, you do NOT want to enter all the coordinates manually. Have fun!
