Do new phones in Europe have inbuilt GPS chips?
In the USA it is becoming law that all new phones have a GPS chip, is this the same in Europe too?
And if you have the chip, can people access your GPS information (ie phone companies/ advertisers etc?)

- Nope. If you want GPS in your phone in europe, you have to buy a GPS enabled phone. Cheers.
- Phones in the UK are not required to have inbuilt GPS chips, however you can get the satnav function by using a bluetooth device and special software for your mobile. If GPS was available on your phone then your Network provider would possibly be allowed to view the information to assist in recovering a stolen phone. Marketing companies, however, would not be able to view the GPS information as it would breach the Data Protection Act. Hope this helps
