Government monitoring chips in our arms. Would you agree to it?
Some company is going to come out with a high profile advertising campaign about how irresponsible it is to not put a GPS chip in your newborns arm. What if they get kidnapped, and you didn't put a chip in their arm!? Your a bad parent if you don't get the chip! Soon doctors will have the option of putting the chip in right away at birth. That way we don't ever have to worry about babies getting mixed up.
Twenty years pass, now 93% of new college freshmen have chips in their arms. They can't get into their dorm rooms without their chip.
Suddenly, it's weird if you don't have a chip, the chip is normal. It's a convenience. What if you need an alibi in court? Not having a chip leaves you open to lawsuit. Insurace companies won't insure you. It's like maintaining the handrail on the steps in front of your house, it's silly not to do it. Sure your every move is tracked. But who cares. As long as you're not doing anything wrong it shouldn't bother you.
By the way we've now got a new chip that monitors that levels of chemicals in the brain related to aggression. It's irresponsible if you don't use it. We've had a rash of school shooting lately. If we would have known ahead of time who was feeling aggressive we could have prevented them...

- Not ever now... I have a strong suspicion towards a programme that even wants 50.000 Dutch a year in a green card lottery.... Lookup your cookies..... (deportation dates on al of us)
- There will not be a choice at some point. Without one you will starve. Alex Jones, "The Cashless Society." "1984" lives, because the wealthy hate democracy.
- I would absolutely never agree to it. I don't believe that anyone has the right to know much of my business except me. I will continue to live my life without the interference that a monitoring chip would cause. There is already far too much government monitoring; I don't need to agree to it.
- honestly the chip thing jus scares me. everytime i read about it my mind goes to the book of revelations in the Bible. see some similarities. i'm glad technology is slow this side of the world, it might take time for it to begin here. and hopefully i will be dead by then.
- I feel like I'm corresponding to a robot instead of a human. Put the chips in everyone's body, monitor their feelings, and when they get angry or "agressive" round them up, hospitalize them, and we'll wind up being a country of happy and drooling morons.
- It wouldn't make a change at all, except that most people would feel even more stressful. Criminals will easily corrupt or remove the chips. Finally, it can result in the opposite, and your chip can be used to make the authorirties believe you did something bad, or it goes wrong and shows youe were at a different place than in reality. Anyway, passports, mobiles and GPS can already locate you. I agree with ansewres above, it is really scary that just because of the feeling of security and better administration we are ready to sacrifice our personal rights. I think even now our personal life is highly violated.
