What are the negitive aspects of the use of GPS Tracking units on children and felons. Isn't is a violation of privacy which is ensured to us by the Constitution? and wouldn't it help diminish the lines of privacy- given time?

- Personally, I think it's a fantastic idea, but it does seem far too big-brotherish. Even in this day and age when our goverment is listening in on our conversations.
- Yes, it is definitely a violation of people's right to privacy. That is very much a negative.
- Given that the child is your responsibility, there is no law broken by tracking them. With a felon who has done their time and been released - yes, that is crossing the line and should not be done. They have paid their debt to society and are now clear to rebuild their lives. If you continue to treat them as a criminal then they will constantly be one. On tracking your children, that is a line you do not want to cross. If you have to resort to tracking your children whereabouts then you have failed as a parent and need to seek professional help.
