what material can i use to interrupt the gps tracking signal on my car?

my used town car has a gps tracking system on it that the person i bought it from installed. for some odd reason he wont tell me where it is. so i took it to a body shop and they told me where the antenna is but the cant find where the gps trackers brain is. they told me it would be best to just cut the antenna. the thing is i want to be able to use the antenna when i park my car somewhere im not familiar with. so i just want to be able to turn it off and on. so they told me to find a material that can interrupt the signal. can anyone help????

Makes me wonder if it's there at all. Previous owner won't tell where? Mechanic can't find it? For an antenna to work, it must be connected. To something. Where does the wire go?
