my boss had this one and loved it.....it was small enough to take with him from car to car and not to expensive. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0009MFQ12/sr=8-3/qid=1145392549/ref=pd_bbs_3/002-6186170-8580835?%5Fencoding=UTF8
Hi - I sell GPS accessories for a job, but this does not mean that I am correct. Garmin, Magellan and Lowrance have the best units available. It really depends on many things but your funds available and your GPS skills are critical. For my $ Garmin i series and c series StreetPilots are affordable and very friendly to use. If money is plentiful the Garmin Nuvi 300 and 350 are really nice! Very small, nice screen carry it in your pocket for walking an hikes. Magellan makes the RoadMate series of in car GPS. Very good - alittle costly but they have a very good ratings. The units are a little to bulky for my taste. Lowrance iWay 350 and 500c are extremly nice units. They are relatively new to auto navigation but have been in Marine and Air navigation for LONG time. 350 has great review but the one thing it lacks in an external antenna. BAD!!! Almost every one of the GPS units (unless you spend 3k or more) need a external antenna. Do not buy the original manufacture antenna - they are low rated and very expensive. When buying the unit - try and get a unit that has maps preloaded. Cheers - Robin
