What's the best GPS navigation system for truck driver?

I'm going to be a truck driver, so I need your advice. What navigation system do you use, and which one do you think is the best. Price is not important. I just don't want to buy the most expencive, 'cause it might be not the best one. so, please share you experience. thanks

  3. I use my Pocket PC (HP RX3715) and a GPS receiver (IOGear). The way I looked at it. If I buy a standalone GPS, it only does GPS. If I get a Pocket PC and a GPS receiver, not only can I do GPS but other tasks like reading the news, check my email, have an address book handy, and can also see what's on my calendar, etc. This'll work if you're connected to the Internet. Instead of my PDA, I also use my notebook computer. Same function as my PDA, only the screen is bigger, but then you can't put it in front of you while driving. Your best bet might be a standalone GPS. I think they have a much bigger screen than a PDA and can put it in front of you. If you're interested in just trying out or get a cheap one, find it at www.Craigslist.org
  4. navistar is pretty good, company's like jb hunt and sheinder already are equipped with them, basically their is no difference in system you are just going to have to find one that works for you and one you can understand and work with
  5. If you just want to find where you are and where your going,I would think any would suffice. I personally have a Garmin GPS V and it works for me. Now if you want a larger screen, color, audio instructions, etc., then you will have to step up to a more expensive model. But my GPS V gets me from point A to B. Maybe others who have had several models can voice an opinion as to which one is better for your use. Mine is a little slow in corrections if I miss a turn but I think that is in the system rather than make/model of the GPS. Altho' I have been known to be wrong (ask my ex.) The larger color screens are nice tho' and the verbal directions are a nice way to go if you want to keep an eye on the road more.
