What’s a good, but moderate priced portable (i.e. not mounted in car) GPS unit I can easily in multiple cars?

Looking for a GPS unit that is - easy to use: i.e. enter destination and understand directions - has a large enough screen to read while driving - portable; i.e. I can carry the unit to whatever car I happen to be using - durable - can withstand accidental drops etc - can show nearby restaurants, gas stations etc while en route - is moderatley priced

  1. TomToms are pretty popular these days.
  2. get a cell phone with all of that on there, Verizon, Razor has all of it. and it is very portable
  3. I have Garmin etrex legend c with a sand bag mount that I can change from one vehicle to another, it works really well. Hope that I helped.
  4. You're in luck, I happen to know exactly what you're looking for. You want to buy a Garmin Streepilot 2610- it is AWESOME. Garmin doesn't make in anymore (because they have newer models which are pretty expen$ive) but you can easily find one on line- www.gpsnow.com, www.ebay.com, www.gpsguys.com, etc. Or just do a google search. Whatever you do, make sure you buy a Garmin Streetpilot like this one (or newer version) because they are the best!!! Very easy to use, and inexpensive- unless you want to buy the newest one. The newer ones have all kinds of features that you don't need, like XM Radio, etc. If you have any questions, feel free to email me at ASLANARIAS@YAHOO.COM Also, go to www.garmin.com to find out about all their products. I have a friend who just bought a refurbished 2620 Streetpilot for $400- and it came with a 1 year warranty. Good luck!
