Can we use windshield mounts for car GPS units in California?
The vendor websites say no, but some say the law allows small sized units to be mounted. Are there any cheaper alternatives? Dash mounts are expensive.

You can not place anything on the windshield. CVC 26708 (a)(1), Those little toll road meter things are the exception.
