What's the most popular Automotive GPS Navigator system?
I recently decided to put one in my vehicle and wanted to know if anyone has one in particular they like over other models and why!
I have used the Magellan 500 but now it is the 760. Pretty much the same and I liked the features however, folks tell me they "crash" a lot. The one I used previously never did it once. It isn't a big deal you just unplug and reboot is what I'm told.
I would appreciate any intelligent input!
I'm not looking for all the "bells and whistles" just a functional piece of equipment which does the job! The Magellan 760 roadmate goes for about $330 online and has all the features I need. Just wanted to know if there is a better model quality wise for the same money!

- TomTom, Garmin, Navman, Lawrance, and Magellan are all grate GPS systems. From what people are saying, Garmin seems to be the best, but they are really really expensive. Right now I would say the best bang for your buck it the "TomTom ONE" TomTom has the most options for how cheap it is, and seems to have a great plotting system.
- I have been using my Garmin iQue 3600 for almost 4 years now and still love it. It's a full-featured Palm-based PDA with built in GPS software and receiver. You can move it anywhere easily and use while hiking. Initial price was $550. The 3600 has been discontinued, but online retailers and eBay seem to still carry new ones. There are newer models from Garmin in the iQue series you can investigate too - both Palm and PocketPC based. The iQue's screen is twice that of these tom tom units and similar. And for $500, it sure beats the limited functionality of the built-in units. Check it out.
