  1. Garmin Rino series. Handheld, with GMRS radio. I have Rino 120 (2) 130s, and a 530. Very satisfied.
  2. tom tom is the best one .. cos you can download latest informations from internet
  3. I have a garmin ipaq pda based gps. It cost be a little less than 250 bucks when it went on sale, works great for what I need it for and I use the PDA function.
  4. I have researched this quite a bit, I also own a Garmin Streetpilot i3. Garmin, from all I have read is probably the best portable unit you can buy, and they also some of thier models are the least expensive to purchase. If money is a real factor - I would get the Garmin i3 or i5, they are basically the same unit, the i5 is preloaded with maps of the US and Canada. The i3 has a transflash memory slot and it comes with a 128mb card which can hold about 4 states on it, however you can purchase a 1gb card which will fit all of the US and Canada (the maps are included on a DVD-Rom, which you will have to load on the unit yourself with the provided USB cable) The i3 costs about 275 dollars on Amazon, and the i5 is about 325. Also, Garmins older model, the C320 has come down in price. I think it is better than the i3 or i5, it's larger, has a touch screen as opposed to a scroll wheel, and has more options. The C320 has an SD memory card slot, and the C330 has built in maps with all the maps pre-loaded.
